Product Photography/
Signage Design
One of the things I loved about working at Rubi and Lib was I practiced quite a bit of
product photography and editing. I was able to tell a story through the mockups that
I created, making the clientele want to live that story.
I photographed cups, napkins, signs, hats, sweatshirts, t shirts, bags, and many other
products that the studio provided.
While there wasn’t a sketch process, there was a lot of experimentation. Adding in decor, taking out decor, adding in lights, adjusting lights, trying to find the perfect set up
that represented whatever product design was going to be plugged in in post.
With the products that were physical samples I had to keep in mind that the color in the photo will be more saturated than in real life. So when I edited I tried to make sure the product looked as close to the real thing as possible, whilst keeping it’s artistic integrity with lighting and exposure manipulation.
The signage designs also had a lot of experimentation. Pinterest and Google helped me find inspiration for sign sayings, quotes, layouts and color palettes.
The idea I kept was to make sure it was as editable as possible, so the clientele could plug in their own names and information.
Simple and elegant designs were the goal for the majority of the projects I created, whilst also bringing a modern twist that satisfied the trending brides.
